The opportunity
As part of our continued transformation, our Marketing team is growing We're looking for a Senior External Communications Manager to join us and play a critical role in shaping, managing and protecting the external reputation of our organisation. You'll be responsible for developing and executing integrated external communication strategies that support our business goals, enhancing brand visibility and fostering trust with key stakeholders, clients, investors, media and the wider public.
Working closely with our cross functional teams, the role involves pro-active media relations, external messaging and support for corporate milestones such as financial results and ESG reporting to our network.
This role will require a clear understanding of financial services, a strategic mindset and the agility to operate in a fast-paced regulated environment.
The benefits:
* Salary - up to £70,000
* Bonus scheme - on target bonus - 15%

Key accountabilities:
* Lead proactive and reactive engagement with financial and trade media to promote company news and thought leadership
* Develop and deliver messaging for major external announcements
* Anticipate and manage reputational risks through communications planning and response
* Craft high quality communications content, collaborating with the business to ensure consistent and compliant messaging
* Manage external PR agencies to ensure alignment with strategy, messaging and budget.
* Ownership of the PR relationship for outbound press stories
* Setting and managing group narrative around key specific topics
* Managing production of a suite of annual corporate reports
* Co-ordination of awards entries and associated publicity
* Ensuring all external corporate communications are seamless and coordinated with social media strategy
What will you need to succeed?
* Established experience in external corporate communications preferably within financial services
* Clear understanding of capital markets, regulatory communications and financial media landscape
* Demonstrable ability to manage reputational issues and crises under pressure
* Outstanding writing, editing and storytelling skills
* Experience of working with senior leadership and C-Suite Executives
* Strong project management and stakeholder engagement capabilities
* Exercising sound judgement and strategic thinking in a regulated environment
* Ability to take ownership and enjoy a high degree of autonomy
* Established experience of collaborating with senior leaders and cross functional partners on high impact decisions
