This position as Superintendent MRI Radiographer is a senior managerial position. We are seeking a personable and experienced Superintendent MRI Radiographer to actively lead on the implementation of clinical excellence, governance, and quality assurance frameworks within the Imaging Department. This position will play a pivotal role in overseeing imaging services and ensuring that compliance with all healthcare regulatory requirements is embedded in both clinical and non-clinical teams and in the ongoing development of our world-class patient care. We require an individual who can ensure that best practice imaging standards become part of the day-to-day business for the Welbeck site, through collaboration, partnership, and close working relationships with leadership and core teams.
You will be directly reporting into the Imaging Manager but will also work closely with Consultant Radiologists, Cardiologists, and senior clinical staff, as well as working with the Welbeck Health Group Chief Clinical Officer, Clinical Quality Team, and Subject Matter Experts to implement specific projects for compliance, innovation, and service improvement.
Responsibilities:
Promoting clinical leadership through all aspects of the role by initiating optimal imaging standards and facilitating effective communications with clinicians and teams.Creating, applying, and monitoring governance systems to ensure the implementation of the Welbeck Imaging Quality Assurance and Governance Strategy.Promote and embed a culture of informed questioning, challenge, trend analysis, and information triangulation to ensure lessons are learned.Lead and co-ordinate the site's MRI and imaging quality assurance programmes to ensure safe and high-quality patient care.Review and analyse imaging quality, safety, and governance data, using Welbeck systems to identify trends, and deliver improvement actions.Produce high-quality governance and performance reports for the Imaging Governance Committee and other relevant committees.Support the department in achieving and maintaining accreditation and regulatory compliance, including adherence to MR safety standards and Local Rules.Manage patient complaints and incidents related to imaging, ensuring that all are investigated and appropriately closed with a focus on learning and resolution.Drive innovation by trialling and implementing new imaging technologies and protocols to improve patient outcomes, experience, and departmental efficiency.Provide training, mentoring, and development opportunities to the imaging team, ensuring skills and knowledge are continuously enhanced.
What can you bring?
Registered Radiographer with valid HCPC registrationExtensive MRI experience across multiple specialties including MSK, Neurological, GI, Urological, Breast, ENT, and whole-body imagingCardiac MRI experience is a mustKnowledge of clinical governance, quality assurance, and risk management in a healthcare environmentExperience in implementing and maintaining regulatory compliance, accreditation standards, and MR safety requirementsDemonstrated ability to perform complex imaging examinations independently, assess referrals, and justify examinationsExperience in staff management, rota coordination, and acting as deputy to the Imaging ManagerAbility to critically evaluate image quality, adjust protocols, and support the production of clinically accurate imaging reportsExcellent communication skills to effectively liaise with patients, multidisciplinary teams, and senior leadership
