ERP Manager – Maritime Operations & Commercial Systems
Role Purpose
The ERP Manager is responsible for the ownership, optimisation, and strategic development of the company’s ERP platform to support maritime operations and commercial performance. The role ensures that ERP systems enable efficient day‑to‑day operational control, accurate financial and vessel reporting, and data‑driven commercial decision‑making across the organisation.
This role acts as the key link between operations, finance, commercial teams, and IT, ensuring the ERP system supports business growth, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
Desirable Responsibilities would be:
ERP Ownership & Governance
* Act as system owner for the ERP platform, ensuring availability, integrity, and performance.
* Define and maintain ERP governance, standards, and best practices across the business.
* Manage system upgrades, enhancements, integrations, and vendor relationships.
* Ensure ERP configuration aligns with maritime operational and commercial requirements.
Operational Management (Day‑to‑Day)
* Support daily maritime operations including fleet management, maintenance, procurement, inventory, and logistics through the ERP system.
* Ensure accurate and timely capture of operational data (vessel costs, spares, fuel, maintenance, crew‑related costs where applicable).
* Resolve day‑to‑day ERP issues impacting operations, working closely with internal users and external support partners.
* Monitor system usage and data quality to ensure operational reporting is reliable and actionable.
Commercial & Financial Enablement
* Partner with commercial and finance teams to ensure the ERP system supports pricing, contract management, billing, and revenue recognition.
* Enable visibility of operational costs versus revenue to support margin control and profitability analysis.
* Develop ERP‑based dashboards and reports to support commercial strategy, forecasting, and management decision‑making.
* Support budgeting, cost control, and financial close processes through accurate ERP data.
Business Process Optimisation
* Analyse existing operational and commercial processes and lead ERP‑enabled improvements.
* Standardise workflows across vessels, regions, and departments where appropriate.
* Ensure ERP processes are scalable and aligned with business growth and new services.
* Act as a change leader, driving adoption of improved processes and system functionality.
Stakeholder Engagement & Training
* Act as the primary point of contact for ERP users across operations, commercial, and finance teams.
* Translate business requirements into system solutions and enhancements.
* Deliver user training, documentation, and ongoing support to maximise system value.
* Build strong working relationships with senior management to align ERP capability with business strategy.
Experience/skills:
· 5 year’s ERP experience is desirable.
· Proven experience within the maritime/shipping industry would be advantageous but not essential.
· Applicants do not have to have experience in all key responsibilities.
Salary - £55 – £60k.
