Strategy& is a global strategy consulting firm that is part of the professional services network of PwC.
Strategy& helps organisations develop and implement effective strategies to achieve their goals and objectives. We address key CEO questions on issues such as growth strategy, market entry, mergers and acquisitions, organisation design, performance improvement and value creation.
We work with a wide variety of UK, European and global corporate clients across all industry sectors as well as investors (mid and large-cap private equity and investment funds).
What your days will look like:
As a Manager in the Financial Services team at Strategy&, you will play a central role in solving the most critical strategic problems of the world's leading banks, insurers, wealth managers, private equity houses and FinTechs.
You will spend most of your time leading the delivery of client projects. You will structure the overall approach to the project, lead day to day engagement with client stakeholders, lead teams of juniors and clients to deliver the work and translate findings into insightful outputs for senior leaders.
Your engagements will include a mix of corporate strategy (growth strategy, market entry, pricing, commercial excellence, product strategy) and transaction-related work (commercial due diligence and pre- and post-deal value creation). Your work will be varied and fast paced as no engagement is ever the same.
Outside of engagements, you will build networks and engage with our wider Financial Services sector and Deals teams. You will help the Partner and Director team generate thought leadership, new propositions and initiatives based on your personal interests and insights; and drive your own personal development and that of your colleagues to deliver ever more value to clients.
The role is for you if you have
* Experience working within Strategy and/or M&A related activity
* Specific experience working with banks, insurers, wealth or asset managers on one or more of the following: Corporate or BU strategy; Growth & product strategy; M&A, Integration; Cost transformation; Customer journey / process development
* Clear, evidence-backed points of view on the future of financial services (across sub sectors) and the commercial implications for incumbents and challengers alike
* Proven track record in coaching others to high performance
* Ability to apply top-down strategic thinking to complex, ambiguous and unfamiliar problems
* Ability to work with quantitative data and structuring quantitative analysis, including a willingness to develop skills in data analytics e.g. Alteryx, PowerBI, Tableau
* Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience in communicating with senior Executives in oral and written form
* Ability to quickly and confidently develop relationships, including in challenging situation
