What we need in a nutshell
You will assist the Head Chef in their daily duties. As Sous Chef, you must be capable of managing the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring that service runs smoothly.
Main duties and responsibilities:
* Ensuring that food areas are set up for the day’s business
* Briefing and directing staff accordingly
* Helping to train staff to meet quality standards
* Working closely with the Head Chef to ensure successful service details
* Controlling stock, reducing wastage, and managing labour/staff hours versus revenues
* Ensuring Food and Beverage areas are cleared
* Handling guest complaints, requests, and enquiries professionally
* Creating a safe environment for staff and guests, adhering to health and safety policies
Key Skills and Experience:
* Preferably experienced as a chef in a guest-focused environment
Reports To: Head Chef
This role offers progression and career development opportunities. It is suitable for an experienced Sous Chef aiming to develop into a Head Chef role, as well as Chef de Parties ready to take the next step.
