Fram are working with a boutique mortgage firm based in Suffolk. They are directly authorised, independent and aim to provide the highest standard of mortgage and protection advice to clients. The role is for an employed advisor who can assess clients’ needs and recommend suitable mortgage and protection solutions. You will be provided with a client book and leads, from which you can build ongoing relationships, but will also need to develop new business yourself. Our client is looking for someone who has a good attitude, experience within the BTL, Bridging and commercial mortgage space, and who enjoys working within a small team in the independent space. Key Responsibilities: Conduct fact-finds with clients to understand their financial situation, needs, and objectives. Research the whole of the market to provide impartial mortgage and protection solutions. Recommend suitable mortgage products (residential, buy-to-let, remortgages, etc.) and protection policies (life insurance, critical illness, income protection, family income benefit). Explain features, benefits, risks, and costs in clear, client-friendly terms. Provide advice in line with FCA regulations and firm’s compliance policies. Ensure Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) and Consumer Duty principles are applied at every stage. Submit mortgage and protection applications to lenders and insurers. Liaise with underwriters, lenders, insurers, and solicitors to progress cases. Manage client pipeline from initial enquiry through to mortgage offer and completion. Build and maintain client relationships to encourage repeat and referral business. Develop introducer relationships (estate agents, accountants, solicitors). Network and generate new business opportunities. Stay up to date with mortgage lender criteria, interest rates, and protection product offerings. Maintain awareness of regulatory changes, tax implications, and industry trends. Provide ongoing reviews of clients’ mortgages and protection needs. Notify clients of renewal dates, rate switches, or opportunities to remortgage. Offer holistic protection advice to cover risks alongside the mortgage. Candidates must have experience within the mortgage and protection space, hold the CeMAP qualification. Have a strong knowledge of mortgage products, lender criteria, and protection insurance. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. The ability to self-motivate, but able to work as part of a team.
