Ambassador Program and Individual Advocacy Lead
Diabetes Australia is the national voice for people living with and at risk of diabetes. We are committed to reducing the impact of diabetes through advocacy, education, and community engagement. We are seeking a passionate and skilled Ambassador Program & Individual Advocacy Lead to join our team and help amplify the voices of people living with diabetes through our national initiative.
About the Role
Reporting to the National Manager – Ambassador Programs, this role has a dual focus:
Leading the operational delivery of the Ambassador Program, a national initiative that elevates lived experience to influence public understanding and policy.
Coordinating individual advocacy efforts, ensuring timely support and capturing insights that inform broader systemic change.
You’ll be the key connector between Ambassadors, Advocates, internal teams, and external stakeholders—ensuring their stories are heard, their impact is visible, and their experiences shape the future of diabetes care in Australia.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day operations of the Ambassador Program, including onboarding, training, and engagement.
Coordinate individual advocacy enquiries and ensure appropriate support and escalation.
Maintain accurate CRM records and produce quarterly reports with actionable insights.
Collaborate with Marketing to ensure authentic representation of lived experience across media and digital platforms.
Analyse advocacy themes to inform policy and content development.
About You
You’re a relationship-builder, a strategic thinker, and a passionate advocate for community voice.
You bring:
Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and program coordination.
Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
Proficiency in CRM systems and data reporting.
A solutions-focused mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Experience in health NFPs or community advocacy is highly desirable.
