1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Prospero Teaching are working closely with a primary school in Lytchett to recruit a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
This is a rewarding and hands-on role, ideal for individuals who are patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs. The successful candidate will provide consistent, calm, and structured 1:1 support throughout the school day, helping the pupil to engage with learning, regulate emotions, and develop confidence and independence.
The school offers a supportive and inclusive environment, where Teaching Assistants play a key role in both academic and pastoral support.
This role would particularly suit candidates with experience or backgrounds in:
SEN Support
Youth Work
Care Work
Behaviour Support
Psychology or Counselling
Sports Coaching
Mentoring or Pastoral RolesThe Role:
Providing 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN
Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
Assisting with learning activities and classroom engagement
Acting as a positive role model and consistent support figure
Implementing strategies set out in EHCPs and support plans

Rate of Pay: From £14.66 per hour (dependent on experience)Experience, Training & Qualifications:
Experience working with children or young people with SEN
Strong interpersonal and behaviour support skills
SEN experience (Autism, SEMH or additional needs preferred)
Care, youth work, or mentoring experience welcomed
Up-to-date Safeguarding training (or willingness to complete)Eligibility:
Right to Work in the UK
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
