Overview
Development Chemist - Folkestone
Location: Folkestone
Pay Rate: £16.35 per hour
Contract: Temporary (with potential for extension)
Requirements: Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field
Key Responsibilities
* Production Changes: Evaluate and approve ingredient, packaging, or manufacturing site changes while ensuring product consistency and compliance.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams (regulatory, safety, supply chain, quality) and external partners (suppliers, manufacturers, test labs).
* Testing: Plan and conduct in-house or outsourced testing to verify product performance and regulatory compliance.
* Documentation: Prepare validation reports, test plans, and other technical documents in line with regulatory requirements.
* Technical Support: Troubleshoot product issues and provide updates to stakeholders on risks and progress.
Skills & Experience Required
* Degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Biochemistry, or similar
* Experience in cosmetics or personal care industry (especially formulation/testing)
* Strong communication and coordination skills
* Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving ability
* Proficient in documentation and data analysis using IT tools
