You’ll be part of a specialist Safeguarding Children and Adults Team, acting for the council on a wide range of matters. These include Public Law Proceedings relating to children, and applications concerning vulnerable adults in the Court of Protection.
Your new role
You’ll prepare cases for court, appear as an advocate, and instruct counsel when required. Your focus could be on safeguarding children litigation, adult social care litigation, or abination of both. For more senior candidates, there is an opportunity to take on additional line management responsibilities. You’ll be supported by a knowledgeable and friendly team and have access to excellent professional development opportunities.
What you’ll need to succeed
A qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives (with Civil Proceedings Certificate or Legal Executive Advocate status).
Experienced in draftingplex court documentation.
Familiar with legislation such as the Children Act 1989, Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act 1983, and Mental Capacity Act 2005.A range of experience will be considered, from newly qualified to 4–5 years PQE.
