Level 1 Teaching Assistant Job – SEMH Support

Your New JobHays Education is recruiting for a Level 1 Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs at a specialist independent school in the Disley area of Cheshire East. This full-time role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting vulnerable learners and looking to grow within a therapeutic and trauma-informed setting. You will:
1. Support pupils aged 7–18 withplex SEMH needs, autism, and associated learning difficulties
2. Assist in the classroom and during off-site activities, including outdoor learning and vocational sessions
3. Build trusting relationships with pupils and help them regulate behaviour and emotions
4. Work closely with teachers, therapists, and care staff to deliver holistic support
5. Be required to drive due to the rural location and nature of the role

What You'll Need to Succeed
11. Experience working with children or young people in any capacity (education, care, youth work, etc.)
12. A genuine interest in SEMH and inclusive education
13. A calm, patient, and resilient approach
14. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential due to location and off-site activities)
15. An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply
