Role context
There are currently two roles available: Asset Manager – Terminal and Asset Manager – Landside & Civils. These are senior leadership roles within MAG and are accountable for all the asset investment in their respective areas. Stansted will benefit from a £1.2bn capital investment over the next five years and these roles will be key contributors to the delivery of that plan.

The role
• Responsible for developing the infrastructure and asset management plans and the investment cases aligned to ISO 55000 to drive value and deliver the airport’s strategic objectives.
• Lead the development and prioritisation of investment needs for various asset types and manage the overall capex plan for a defined asset base.
• Develop clear requirements for all investments (renewals, regulatory, growth, customer improvements), define optimised solutions, and sponsor capital delivery programmes.
• Work collaboratively with Operations, Maintenance, Commercial, Strategy, Capital Delivery and IT teams to deliver capital investment schemes and realise benefits.
• Ensure seamless delivery of new or enhanced assets into operation to agreed asset standards and requirements.
• Ensure developments incorporate current and future business transformation schemes, including asset demands across infrastructure and technology.
• Work with Strategy and Master Planning teams to support concept and solution development into feasibility and design-delivery.
Main accountabilities
* Develop, prioritise and deliver asset management strategies and investment plans for London Stansted, including 1, 3, 5 and 25 year plans, to meet asset performance and wider airport strategic requirements.
* Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance to ensure data is reliable and complete, using it to inform asset strategy and investment decisions with a focus on whole life cost and value optimization.
* Identify opportunities to drive yield or efficiencies in commercial and operational functions.
* Lead the Capex Gateway process from prioritisation of needs through to benefits realisation (GW6).
* Build collaborative relationships across Operations, Commercial, Strategy, Capital Delivery, IT, Group Procurement and Finance.
* Provide insight into industry best practice and technology advances to add value for the asset group.
What will make you successful in the role?
* 5 years+ Asset Management experience – within infrastructure preferred
* Degree or professional qualification desirable
* Experience of asset management in mechanical or building systems desirable
* Ability to work cross-functionally and develop holistic airport strategies
* Ability to operate in a high-change environment and manage multiple scenarios
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills at all levels
* Commercial acumen including risk management and whole life cost analysis
