We are searching for motivated and enthusiastic Registered Children's Nurses who are passionate about delivering safe, high quality care to patients and their families with a progressive and innovative mindset for continuous service improvements.
This role is open to newly qualified nurses graduating in September 2026
Main duties of the job
* We have a unique, caring and inclusive team who are delighted to be responsible for the care of Children and Young People from 5 days to 18 years old, across East Berkshire and South Bucks.
* Our department has a 5 bedded High Dependency Unit and 19 inpatient beds alongside a 6 bedded Day Surgery Unit. We have close links with our Paediatric Assessment Unit, Neonatal Unit, Children’s Outpatient Department, Paediatric A&E and our Children’s Community Nursing Teams as well as our regional Children’s Hospital in Oxford.
* We promote strong interdepartmental and cross-site working relationships with both Heatherwood and Frimley Park Hospitals.
* Main responsibilities include to provide safe, high quality patient centred care to children & families.

Person Specification
Experience
* Current paediatric experience
* Aware of research and evidence and implications for practice.
* Aware of key principles of paediatric care and implications for practice.
* Monitors and contributes to protecting children and young people at risk, providing children who have been abused with support from others.
* Participation in audit activity
Qualifications
* Registered sick children’s nurse (NMC Sub Part 1(Children)/RN Child)
Skills & Knowledge
* Uses clinical judgement and decision making about nursing care requirements.
* Assesses, plans, delivers, evaluates and records care with minimal supervision from an experienced practitioner
* Assists with supporting children, young people, parents and families to cope with changes in health and well being.
* Reinforces basic information and supports students' learning of skills and knowledge in clinical practice setting.
