Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) - Transition Pool
Discover Your Nursing Potential with Quinte Health’s Transition Pool. This program offers an opportunity to explore diverse clinical areas, build a wide range of skills, and determine where you thrive while making a meaningful impact on patient care. The Transition Pool includes an 8-week onboarding process with an initial 4 weeks on a Medicine/Surgical unit supported by a consistent mentor, followed by rotations through various units and a Medicine Orientation Skills Day.
This role is ideal for nurses who value variety, thrive in dynamic environments, and want to broaden their clinical horizons across acute care, rehabilitation, behavioral support, and transitional care settings.

Responsibilities
* Provision of care for patients within an interprofessional environment, including assessment, treatment, teaching and education.
* Perform acts requiring specialized knowledge, skills and judgement necessary for care of acute medical patients.
* Teaching and coaching to patients and families.
* Maintain nursing records in accordance with College of Nurses Standards.
* Practice in compliance with provincial legislation, hospital policies and procedures, professional regulatory standards and best practices in nursing.
* Maintain professional competence through regular professional development including annual training and education as indicated.
* Participate in unit/department and hospital quality improvement initiatives.
* Adhere to a safe and healthy workplace and participate in health and safety programs and procedures.
* Adapt to and advocate for the values of Quinte Health and contribute to an enhanced patient experience.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Current Certificate of Registration in good standing, or eligible for registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
* Current CPR/BLS/BCLS certificate.
* Capable of coping with a physically demanding workload (Physical Demands Analysis available to review).
Physical Demands (summary)
* Strength: lifting and pushing/pulling as required; occasional heavy demands.
* Mobility: standing, walking, sitting; bending and stooping as needed.
* Dexterity: fine motor skills and coordinated movements.
