Role Description
* Ingredient Sourcing: last‑minute food runs to procure high‑quality ingredients, maintaining relationships with suppliers and ensuring timely delivery for shoots.
* Kitchen Management: maintain cleanliness and organisation of the prep kitchen, ensuring all equipment is in working order and complies with health and safety regulations.
* Food Styling Assistance: work alongside home economists and food stylists to prepare and present food attractively for filming, ensuring visual appeal aligns with the show’s aesthetic.
* Research: stay updated on current food trends, seasonal ingredients, and culinary techniques to contribute fresh ideas to the production team.
* On‑Set Support: provide hands‑on assistance during filming, including setting up cooking stations, managing ingredient prep, and ensuring smooth culinary operations on set.
* Recipe Development Support: assist in adapting and testing recipes to ensure they are suitable for on‑screen presentation and meet production standards.
Qualifications
* Culinary experience: prior experience in a kitchen environment, whether through internships, food runner in TV production, or entry‑level positions, demonstrating basic cooking and food preparation skills.
* Technical proficiency: basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and food safety; Level 2 food safety and hygiene certificate is desirable but will be provided if required as part of the role.
* Organisational skills: strong ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain attention to detail, and ensure timely completion of responsibilities.
* Communication: effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse team members.
* Adaptability: willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, as dictated by production schedules.
* Passion for food media: a genuine interest in food‑related content and a desire to build a career in culinary media and television production.
