Reporting to the director you will lead on the submission and preparation of new plannings applications, directly or via external consultants, work on reserve matters and largely change of use applications whilst running appeals. You will instruct, manage and monitor external consultants for general planning applications and also appeals whilst overseeing. Work collaboratively with internal and external teams and advise on planning options and strategic feasibility. Experience in all of the above is required particularly ‘change of use’ apps! Ideally you will be a member of RPTI or relevant town and planning degree, but this is not essential. Strong Planning knowledge is required and to be well versed in the system as well as local authority policies. Excellent written and verbal communication. Established connections and contacts within the local network. You will have the capability to challenge planning views and decisions. A natural problem solver who is able to prioritise and multitask, whilst adding value to the immediate and wider teams. Both developer, consultancy and local authority backgrounds will be considered.
