Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?
Academics are seeking a committed SEND support staff to help local primary schools across Mansfield. You will join our inclusive learning community supporting children on a 1:1 and group basis. This post is a temporary position, supporting local primary schools throughout the academic year, term-time only.
Posts often required include: ad-hoc daily cover, short-term placements (up to 6 weeks), and long-term to permanent placements.
As an SEND support staff member, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored support to students with diverse learning needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Working closely with teachers to implement individual education plans
* Providing one-on-one support to students with SEND
* Assisting in the development and adaptation of learning materials
* Supporting students in building social and emotional skills
* Collaborating with other professionals, including therapists and specialists
* Monitoring and recording student progress
Qualifications and skills required:
* Relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs or Supporting Teaching and Learning
* Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with students with SEND
* Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to the well-being of students
* Adaptability and flexibility in responding to the diverse needs of learners
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
