Inspired Global Cuisine are a frozen ready meal manufacturer based in Gorton, East Manchester. We are an ambitious company who have grown significantly over the last 2 years, now producing over 1million meals a week and have plans to continue to grow. Which includes a re-location to a brand new 369 thousand square foot site in Chadderton, Oldham in early 2026 where we plan to double our volume over the next few years.

Role & Responsibilities

Team Leader (AM) 06:00-14:00 Monday- Friday

To be responsible for the smooth running of the production line to deliver production targets, with the ability to recognise errors, to rectify them quickly and effectively and drive improvement. To lead and motivate your team, ensuring all personnel are appropriately trained and follow procedures.

· To maintain a high standard of Health & Safety and Food Safety

· Complete Quality Control checks in a timely manner for example date checks, 1st off samples, checkweigh accuracy, traceability sheets etc.

· To promote and maintain a clean as you go (CAYGO) culture within the working area

· To deliver production targets on time in full

· Ensure that the line is running at optimum speed for the given product

· To ensure line down-time is kept to a minimum, causes accurately logged, actions implemented or escalated where necessary, whilst maintaining H&S, Food Safety and Quality

· To keep waste to a minimum (both throwaway and giveaway) by e.g. ensuring materials are used in oldest first, rework is dealt with a timely fashion, causes of throwaway are identified and actions taken and weights controlled to minimise giveaway.

· Identify and drive improvement, escalating opportunities as appropriate

· To be responsible for all paperwork, including SIC boards, for you line from start to finish, including; printing; accurate and clear completion; submitting to the appropriate department

· To understand all the machinery on your line and perform basic repairs when applicable, highlighting more serious faults to the appropriate department

· To complete a verbal handover at the start and end of each shift with the outgoing / incoming team leader covering production plan, run rates, issues, trials etc.

· To ensure sufficient resources are available on the line for the given production run, with no over manning, plan resource for the next shift

· To provide appropriate on-the-job training to team members and agency staff and develop their skills to increase flexibility including delegation of tasks where appropriate.

· Ensure training matrix is up to date

· To maintain good team relations and promote a positive culture

· To deliver a quick shift start meeting at the start of each shift with the line team to include recap of the previous shift, planned run rate and known issues for the day

· To prepare the line ready for the oncoming shift for a smooth start up and overseeing the team throughout your shift

· Liaise with other areas e.g. management, Quality, Engineering etc, escalating issues that cannot be resolved locally

· Lead by example and adhere to all company policies and procedures

· To highlight any areas of concern to the Management team, including; reporting accidents and near misses; quality issues; out-of-spec. ingredients; and completing documentation for staff misconduct issues and absences

· To undertake any reasonable tasks as required by Management

Essential:

· Level 2 Food Hygiene Cert.

· Team player with strong awareness of targets and objectives

· Ability to lead by example and lead a team to achieve company objectives

· Proactive

· Strong communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £13.84 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
