Overview

Seasonal Aigas Rangers – Remuneration £28,080+ pa (pro rata)

The Aigas Ranger Training Scheme starts at the beginning of February 2026 and takes seven/eight weeks. After training you will commence a four week shadowing period, followed by a term work experience contract until the beginning of November. During that time you will take groups of adults around the Highlands providing a very high level of environmental, cultural, historical and archaeological interpretation. You will also work regularly with our environmental education team, providing outdoor education to children and young adults. You will provide excellent customer care and work with the Aigas team in a unique and exciting environment. You will be involved in animal husbandry (of our wildcats for example) and a range of other nature conservation projects on the estate.


Responsibilities

* Take groups of adults around the Highlands with high level interpretation of environmental, cultural, historical and archaeological topics.
* Work with the environmental education team to provide outdoor education to children and young people.
* Provide excellent customer care as part of the Aigas team in a unique environment.
* Be involved in animal husbandry (e.g., our wildcats) and participate in various nature conservation projects on the estate.


Accommodation and Pay

Accommodation is provided at Aigas, and charged at the accommodation offset rate of £10.66 per day from 1st May. New rangers are employed from 1st May – 31st October after completing a thorough training period during which time a subsistence grant of £400 per month is paid by The Aigas Trust, which also funds the ARTS. Hours worked during employment will be 45 per week, this will include early mornings and late evenings at least once a week.


Requirements

* You must have a clean and full driver’s licence.
* You must be prepared to live in shared accommodation on site at Aigas.
