We are working with a well-established Tier 2 main contractor delivering new build and refurbishment residential and commercial projects across the UK. Due to continued growth within their design team, we are recruiting a Design Manager to oversee design coordination and delivery across multiple projects, with responsibilities split between office and site visits.
This Design Manager role would suit someone with experience managing multidisciplinary design teams on both residential and commercial schemes, ensuring design solutions are deliverable, compliant, and aligned with programme and budget requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

Managing the design process throughout project lifecycles for residential and commercial schemes
*
Coordinating internal teams, architects, engineers, and consultants
*
Reviewing drawings, specifications, and technical submissions for accuracy and feasibility
*
Leading design workshops and technical reviews
*
Ensuring design solutions align with programme, budget, and client requirements
*
Supporting bid teams with design input for upcoming projects
*
Travelling to site as required to support design coordination and technical delivery
Experience & Requirements:

Proven experience as a Design Manager or similar role in construction
*
Strong experience across residential and commercial new build and refurbishment projects
*
Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams
*
Technical understanding of construction processes and materials
*
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
*
Ability to split time effectively between office and site
*
Relevant professional qualifications preferred
What’s on Offer:
