We are currently seeking a full-time Homestore Lead Associate to join our Garden Centre team in our flagship Tillicoultry store. If you have a love for gardening, a strong knowledge of plants, and are ready to lead a team in a fast-paced environment, this could be the perfect role for you.
About the Role:
As a Homestore Lead Associate within our Garden Centre, you'll play a key role in delivering an exceptional customer experience and ensuring our plant and gardening departments flourish - both literally and commercially. You’ll be confident in identifying plant types, understanding seasonal trends, and offering tailored advice to customers. By sharing your passion for gardening and plants, you'll lead and develop your team of Homestore Sales Associates to consistently deliver outstanding service to our customers.
What You’ll Do:
* Welcome and engage customers with friendly, knowledgeable support tailored to their gardening needs.
* Share your plant expertise - from perennials and shrubs to seasonal florals and indoor plants - to inspire and guide our customers.
* Handle customer queries with care, turning challenges into great experiences.
* Process sales and refunds efficiently and professionally.
* Drive performance by hitting sales targets and encouraging add-on purchases (fertiliser, tools, pots, etc.).
* Maintain high visual standards across displays and plant care areas.
* Foster a collaborative, supportive environment that helps your team thrive.
* Monitor and communicate sales performance and help deliver seasonal promotions.
* Assist with training, appraisals, and rota planning to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
About You:
* You have a genuine passion for gardening or horticulture experience - whether from a professional background or personal projects.
* Your plant knowledge allows you to confidently advise customers and manage stock across varying seasons and conditions.
* You're an enthusiastic people-person who brings energy to the team and to every customer interaction.
* You’re confident, composed under pressure, and motivated to achieve results.
* You're comfortable leading a team and stepping up when required.
* You thrive in a dynamic, customer-focused environment and have a natural ability to connect service with sales
Key Skills & Experience:
* Passion for gardening and solid plant knowledge (professional or personal).
* Previous retail or garden centre experience is a plus.
* Demonstrated success in delivering excellent customer service.
* Team leadership experience (preferred).
* Strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.
* Ability to stay cool under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
