We are looking for patient and caring individuals to join our team at JigsawPlus, adult day centre. You will be working individually and within small groups with autistic learners aged 18 and over, supporting their development of knowledge and skills that will enhance their wellbeing, independence and social inclusion, helping to make significant differences to their lives. At JigsawPlus, we use behaviour driven teaching strategies to encourage positive outcomes and development of our learners. You will be working in our Centre for Lifelong Learning as well as accompanying our adult learners in the community, helping them to put their learning into practice.

Training & Development Opportunities at JigsawPlus
11. NVQ Level 3 & Level 5 Diplomas in Adult Social Care
12. Completion of the 15 standards to achieve a Care Certificate
13. Positive Behaviour Support Training that may include the CAPBS coaches programme and the AIBI PBS competency framework
14. Behaviour analysis specific qualifications including CABAS teaching accreditations (Adult focused curriculum), Certification with the UK Society for Behaviour Analysis (UKBA(Cert) & UKiBA (Cert)) and the 40-hour Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT) course
15. Masters’ qualification in (High Incidence & Disabilities) and/or (Behaviour Analysis)
16. PROACT SCIPr UK – Behaviour Management and Instructor Training
17. Support, mentorship and regular supervision from some of the UK’s leading and internationally recognised ABA Experts
18. Extensive and regular industry training in First Aid, Safeguarding, Emergency Medication, Behaviour Support, Personal Care, Autism, Leadership & Line Management to name a few
19. Opportunities to broaden your skills and join different committees and working groups relating to Mental Health, Staff Voice, ED&I, Ethics, Emergency Medical response and much more
Responsibilities of the role
20. Provide support, care and teaching to autistic adult learners’
21. Plan, prepare and deliver activities supporting the development of knowledge and skills
22. Provide behaviourally based support to reduce behaviours that impact quality of life
23. Provide personal care, encouraging and enabling adult learners to maintain acceptable levels of hygiene, including toileting, dressing and washing
24. Support adult learners’ participation in social, leisure and educational activities within the local community, applying theory-based learning to practice
25. Support adult learners to access work experience and employment opportunities
To be successful in this role you will need:
26. Professional, personal or voluntary experience of working with adults or young people with disabilities
27. The ability to keep calm in high pressure situations
28. A positive, ‘can-do’ attitude
29. Confidence working with adults who exhibit challenging behaviour and supporting others with personal/intimate care where required
30. A commitment to our regular and ongoing professional development programme and training
31. A driving licence or access to a lift (due to our remote location)
Salary: £25000 (Plus a £500 bonus on completion of probation)
Contract terms: Monday to Friday 9.00 – 17.00 (Part Time working options can be considered)
Annual Leave: 25 Days plus 8 Day Bank Holidays
