About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Vehicle Technician / Automotive Mechanic to join our busy workshop. This is a hands-on role for a confident, NVQ Level 3 qualified technician who is skilled in diagnosing and repairing a wide variety of faults across modern Petrol, Diesel, and Hybrid vehicles. You will handle complex mechanical tasks, high-level diagnostics, and contribute to excellent customer care in a professional, well-equipped environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Independently complete complex mechanical repairs including:
o Cylinder head repairs and valvetrain replacements
o Timing chain/belt replacements (including in-oil types)
* Perform routine maintenance and component replacement:
o Clutches, transmissions, braking systems (ABS, EPB)
o Engine management, emissions control, SCR/AdBlue, DPF, GDI, and NoX systems
* Diagnose faults accurately across multiple vehicle makes and models
* Provide clear, professional feedback to customers and service reception
* Complete servicing and repairs to ICME / AutoData standard times
* Maintain accurate records of parts, consumables, and service details
* Keep workshop areas clean, organised, and safe
* Work collaboratively with colleagues while maintaining high standards of workmanship
About You
* NVQ Level 3 qualified (minimum); additional specialist accreditations desirable
* 5+ years' experience in a busy workshop environment
* Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills on cars and light commercial vehicles
* Confident with Petrol, Diesel, and Hybrid vehicle systems, including emissions technology
* Excellent communication skills for liaising with customers and team members
* Reliable, professional, and capable of working independently
* Own comprehensive set of tools
