Job Description
Purpose of the post
* Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.
* To undertake, as part of a team, the cleaning of designated areas within the school premises to ensure that they are kept in a clean and hygienic condition.
Responsibility for functions
Main duties
* Cleaning, washing, sweeping and vacuum cleaning.
* Emptying litter and recycling bins.
* Polishing and dusting of designated areas including furniture and fixtures.
* Cleaning toilets and shower areas, replenish toilet paper and soap.
* There is a requirement, when appropriate, to use powered equipment.
* The duties may vary between terms and school closure periods.
* There will, on occasions, be a requirement for you to move between areas.
Other responsibilities
* Responsibility for self-development.
* Ensure compliance with Health and Safety rules in the workplace in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Council's Health and Safety Policy.
* Operate within the Council's policies in relation to equal opportunities and equality.
* Responsible for managing information in accordance with the Council's information management guidelines. Ensure that personal information is treated in accordance with Data Protection legislation.
* Commitment to reducing the Council's carbon emissions in accordance with the Carbon Management Plan.
