Vehicle Workshop Controller required in Cheltenham.
1. Starting salary plus performance-related bonus scheme providing on-target earnings around £36,000 per annum.
2. 8:00am-6:00pm Monday to Friday, with 1 in 2 Saturdays, 8:30am-12:30pm.
Our client, a large multi-franchise approved car dealership based in the Cheltenham region, is currently looking to recruit a Vehicle Workshop Controller to join their busy Service Department.
Reporting to the Service Manager, you shall work alongside another Workshop Controller and be accountable for a team of roughly 12 to 15 Vehicle Technicians.
Your responsibilities will include:
3. Day-to-day control of the workshop team.
4. Liaise with the Service Manager and team to ensure the best process.
5. Ensure customer requirements are fully understood and communicated effectively to other members of the Service Department.
6. Monitor individual and workshop efficiencies to ensure key performance indicators are met.
7. To calculate and manage the effective use of the workshop.
8. Plan the distribution of work among the team utilising the available skills mix.
9. Identify individual training and development needs.
10. Manage liaison between workshop and service reception on customer vehicle progress.
11. Manage workshop standards by HSO requirements.
12. Ensure understanding and adherence to the requirements of brand service requirements and customer satisfaction indicators.
To be eligible, you will ideally live in the Cheltenham region or live within a reasonable commuting distance to Cheltenham and will need to have a proven track record in helping run a successful automotive workshop or be a highly skilled Vehicle Service Advisor interested in moving into a workshop controlling role. Overall, you will have excellent communication skills, good interpersonal skills and team orientation, be results-oriented, have problem-solving and decision-making skills, put a focus on quality and reliability, and be IT literate. You will also need to have a UK driving license with minimal points.
