Are you looking for an opportunity to make a positive impact for our colleagues? We currently seek an experienced People Management Trainer to join our People & Culture Directorate on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role can be based in Exeter, Bristol, or Redhills. This position involves considerable travel across the Pennon Group, with potential overnight stays. You will receive a competitive salary between £45,000 and £50,000, plus an excellent benefits package.
About the role:
Reporting to the Inclusion and Employee Relations Lead, the People Management Trainer will design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training programs for line managers to enhance their employee relations capabilities. The trainer will help build confidence and skills among managers to foster respectful, fair, and people-centered work environments. This pivotal role involves leading the creation and delivery of engaging, forward-thinking training that strengthens our approach to employee relations, helping managers navigate complex ER issues with empathy and clarity, and contributing to a positive, inclusive employee experience.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract or secondment opportunity, ideal for someone passionate about people management, ER, and inclusive leadership.
What you will be doing:
* Design and deliver innovative internal training programs
* Create inclusive, accessible, and engaging learning content
* Facilitate interactive, in-person training sessions
* Develop and maintain practical learning resources
* Track and evaluate training effectiveness and reach
* Collaborate with colleagues across People Services, IT, Communications, and operational teams
* Promote a culture of continuous learning, curiosity, and capability-building
What we are looking for:
* Exceptional communication and facilitation skills, capable of engaging diverse audiences
* Strong organizational and project management skills
* Proven experience in designing and delivering inclusive learning content
* Effective stakeholder engagement skills, confident in working with internal teams and external partners
* Ability to translate complex employee relations topics into practical, values-aligned learning experiences
* Experience supporting teams through organizational change
* Strong understanding of Employee Relations legislation, employment law, and policies
* Full UK Driving Licence is essential
