Contracts Manager - Civils
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £55- £60,000 + car or car allowance
Are you a Site Agent looking for a change in role? Or a Contracts Manager wanting to lead on major projects? A leading tier one contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to join their regional civils team in the Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee the delivery of infrastructure schemes across a major framework - a transport programme focused on creating dedicated bus lanes and improving priority routes throughout Birmingham.
You'll be reporting to the Operations Manager and leading a range of schemes including works along key corridors like the A34 and A45, as well as managing utility diversions and bus stop infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead civils projects from early design involvement through to delivery
Build strong working relationships with clients and key stakeholders
Play a hands-on role in pre-construction and planning phases
Manage on-site teams and supply chain partners to ensure safe, timely delivery
Collaborate with the Pre-Construction team to develop programmes and input at early stages
Oversee contractual programmes and work alongside commercial teams to manage cost forecasts
Coach and develop your team to maintain a high-performance culture
Ensure all procurement of plant, materials, and subcontractors meets project timelines
Support the Operations Manager in identifying future work pipelines within the region
What We're Looking For:
Proven experience managing multiple civils schemes or large-scale highways projects
A qualification in civil engineering or a related field (advantageous)
Good understanding of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts
Strong leadership, commercial acumen, and stakeholder engagement skillsBenefits:
