The MedicalUndergraduate Team have an exciting opportunity within South Tyneside andSunderland Foundation Trust to appoint an Undergraduate Co-ordinator. TheUndergraduate Co-ordinator will work alongside Teaching Fellows and ClinicalEducators to facilitate the delivery of the University of Sunderland MedicalSchool Curriculum.
We are available to meet prospective candidates and give them theopportunity to visit the department and meet colleagues with whom they will beworking. We find this helps candidates to gain a greater understanding of thedepartment and the post and to find out if they would be happy joining ourteam.
Main duties of the job
MedicalEducation is a dynamic and fast paced environment, and the post holder will beexpected to work to tight timeframes, organise their own workload and be ableto prioritise tasks. Candidates must have excellent communication skills, bothwritten and verbal and be flexible and committed to team working.
The post isfull time over a 5-day week with the potential for flexible workingarrangements. The job will be based at the Sunderland site but the post holder willbe expected to travel to South Tyneside District Hospital, when the jobrequires.
Working and supporting the UndergraduateManager to successfully implement, maintain and further develop the Universityof Sunderland MBchB curriculum within the Trust. This will include datacollection and basic analysis to identify student capacity in the clinicalareas.

Job responsibilities
The Medical Education Department is responsible forthe provision and quality control of undergraduate and postgraduate medicaleducation to meet national requirements for training, with the purposeimproving standards of patient care.
Ledby the Director of Medical Education (DME), Clinical Tutors and MedicalEducation Manager (MEM) the department works towards improving and assuringquality of undergraduate and postgraduate medical teaching and learning that isprovided within the Trust and aims to improve teaching and lifelong learning.
The post holder will fulfil a key administration role to ensure thedelivery of an effective medical education service to the highest quality andstandards in line with the requirements of the Trust, GMC and Health EducationEngland. Directly providingcomprehensive day-to-day support and administration to some training programmesthe post holder will support the Director of Undergraduate Clinical Studies,college tutor/training programme directors in the delivery of education tospecific groups of doctors and will ensure the competencies are deliveredappropriately. Working and supportingthe Undergraduate Managerto successfully implement, maintain and further develop the University ofSunderland MBchB curriculum within the Trust. This will include data collectionand basic analysis to identify student capacity in the clinical areas.

Experience
