If so, Veritas Education is looking for a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Kirklees.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one support to a student with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring their individual learning and social development needs are met.
* Assist the classroom teacher in creating a supportive and inclusive environment.
* Implement tailored strategies and interventions to support the child's learning, behaviour, and emotional development.
* Help the child to engage with classroom activities, promoting independence and positive self-esteem.
* Build a positive and trusting relationship with the child, acting as a role model and mentor.
* Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and parents to ensure effective communication and progression.
* Maintain accurate records of the child's progress and development.
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, preferably working with children with SEN.
* A good understanding of Special Educational Needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, or learning difficulties.
* Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude towards supporting students with diverse needs.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Relevant qualifications in childcare or education are desirable but not essential.
* A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or willingness to obtain one.
