Job Title: Water Quality Assistant Project Manager
Location: Flexible (within our region)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: circa £40,000 (depending on skills and experience)
Storm overflows are very provocative and not acceptable to our customers and stakeholders. We want to lead the charge in resolving the current situation. That’s where our Clean Rivers & Seas Task Force comes in, implementing pioneering and industry-leading solutions to reduce spills and reliance on overflows whilst also enhancing the environment for our communities. Currently delivering a £45million pathfinder programme which rapidly expands to £1.5billion over next 10 years. The programme has been very successful, and we are now expanding the team so we can continue to work in partnership to deliver a larger programme of sustainable and innovative interventions to reduce the use of storm overflows.
We’re excited to announce a brand-new opportunity to join our Clean Rivers & Seas Task Force as a Water Quality Assistant Project Manager.
Job Overview
As a Water Quality Assistant Project Manager, you’ll support the delivery of environmental and water quality initiatives. Working closely with our Environment & Water Quality Project Manager and Water Quality Specialist, you’ll assist in planning, coordination, and monitoring of projects to ensure objectives around time, cost, and quality are met.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Conducting site visits to assess progress and identify locations for continuous water quality monitoring
2. Supporting monthly project status reports and cost forecasts
3. Assisting with data collation for scheduling and programming
4. Managing smaller projects or components of larger schemes
5. Coordinating with contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams
6. Conducting field surveys and validating sites for monitoring installations
About You
This is a unique opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional with a passion for environmental work and a desire to develop in water quality and project management. You’ll be proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
We’re looking for someone with:
7. A degree in a science-related discipline or equivalent experience
8. Basic understanding of project and contract management
9. Familiarity with environmental regulations related to water and wastewater
10. Strong communication and organisational skills
11. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
12. Stakeholder management skills
