An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and driven Business Development Manager to join a young, growing construction business with an excellent reputation in the high-end residential and bespoke build market across Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas.
This role is ideal for a proactive, client-facing individual who thrives on building relationships, generating opportunities, and driving projects from initial inquiry through to successful handover.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify and develop new business opportunities within the high-end residential and bespoke construction sectors
* Build, maintain, and leverage a strong network ("black book") of clients, architects, consultants, and industry contacts
* Manage the full sales and pre-construction process from initial inquiry through to project handover
* Lead client meetings, presentations, and negotiations with a professional and consultative approach
* Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless transition from pre-construction into delivery
* Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and potential opportunities to support business growth
* Contribute to bid strategy, tender submissions, and overall company growth plans
* Maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals

Key Requirements
* Proven experience in a Business Development, Pre-Construction, or similar client-facing role within construction
* Strong network of industry contacts including clients, architects, and consultancies (highly desirable)
* Demonstrated ability to win work and manage relationships from concept through to delivery
* Commercial awareness with a strong understanding of the construction process
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
* Self-motivated, target-driven, and proactive approach
* Reliable, professional, and well-presented
