Broad Heath is an inner-city school supporting 680 fantastic pupils. We are seeking a passionate, resilient, and ambitious Learning Support Assistant to join our school and inspire a generation of children. Broad Heath Primary School nurtures inclusion, inspires lifelong learning, and empowers confident, responsible citizens who thrive and positively impact community. We continue to prioritise opportunities for professional growth and additional training (NPQs, subject leadership, areas of specialism e.g. SEND/EAL), and many staff are now leading on these areas in school and locally. What is the job role? The role may be full-time or part time (Term Time only) and is on a Fixed Term basis (Maternity Cover), with a view to starting as soon as possible. Duties & Responsibilities To understand what the learning intention is in every lesson and their role in the teaching. To understand the term equity and equal opportunities in a learning context and apply it, ensuring all children are learning and there is inclusion. To be able to offer a variety of skills which will enhance children’s learning. Review daily children’s learning and inform class teacher about children’s response to the tasks/fill in records when asked. Ensure classroom equipment is orderly and maintained and there is no equipment left out at the end of the day. This means in and directly outside your class. Ensure equipment is ready for the whole day’s teaching. This may involve lifting and re-organising equipment. Promote learning, by creating vibrant and quality displays in the class and around the school following the school display policy. Work with other LSAs if asked to do so. Who are we looking for? We are looking for someone who: Has experience of working in primary education. Is committed to making a difference to the outcomes for our children. Is creative and able to motivate and inspire children to succeed and achieve. Is positive and has effective classroom management strategies. Has a commitment to raising standards and accelerating children’s progress. Is resilient and committed to working as part of a team. Will go the extra-mile for our children. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced criminal record check via the DBS, all relevant safeguarding and pre-employment clearances, and the receipt of two satisfactory references.
