Job Description
We are seeking a committed and highly organised Legal Assistant to support our Legal Services team in delivering high‑quality legal work across Social Care (Children and Adults), Education, Employment, and wider council functions. In this role, you will assist lawyers with a broad range of tasks including issuing proceedings, drafting routine court documents, preparing bundles, gathering evidence, conducting research, managing correspondence, and liaising with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. You will handle routine legal enquiries, participate in the daily duty rota, and ensure all work meets Lexcel and corporate performance standards, contributing to the smooth and efficient delivery of legal services.
Contract Terms
Starting salary: SC6 (£35,520 – £36,585)
Work location: Alexandra House, 10 Station Road, Wood Green, London, N22 7TR
Hours per week: 36 per week
Contract type: Permanent

Responsibilities

Qualifications
* Hold a law degree.
* Proficient in using MS Office and IT systems.
* Able to carry out legal research and support case preparation effectively.
* Experience working in a legal assistant role, particularly within Children’s or Adult Safeguarding, is highly desirable.
* Strong organisational skills, excellent written and verbal communication, ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
* Demonstrated ability to work calmly under pressure, contribute positively to team objectives, demonstrate good customer care skills, and show a commitment to personal development, equality, and flexible working.
* Willingness to attend meetings and travel to locations both inside and outside the borough when required.
