CNC Machinist / Fabrication TechnicianCV4£25.00ph LTD ContractContract Opportunity-Min 6 MonthsWe are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Machinist / Fabrication Technician to join a leading advanced engineering and prototype manufacturing environment based in Coventry.This is an exciting opportunity to support low-volume prototype and development builds across a range of high-performance engineering projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in manufacturing and modifying components for specialist build and test operations.The RoleThe position will involve setting, operating, and programming both CNC and manual machinery within a fast-paced machine shop environment. You will be responsible for producing precision components from a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous materials while supporting multiple engineering departments.Key ResponsibilitiesSet, operate, and program 3-axis CNC milling machineryManual turning and milling of prototype and low-volume componentsManufacture and modify components to engineering drawings and specificationsSupport fabrication and welding activities where requiredCarry out self-inspection and quality checks on completed workRead and interpret engineering drawings accuratelyMaintain high housekeeping and safety standards within the workshopWork independently and collaboratively to provide machining solutionsSupport continuous improvement and efficient workshop operationsEssential ExperienceNVQ Level 3 or equivalent within Mechanical Engineering / MachiningProven experience setting, operating, and programming CNC machineryManual lathe and milling experienceAbility to read and understand engineering drawingsExperience machining a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous materialsStrong understanding of basic measurement and inspection principlesGood problem-solving ability and capable of working independentlyBasic PC skillsDesirable ExperienceProtoTRAK SMX control experienceExperience operating XYZ machineryFabrication and welding experienceCAD software knowledgeOverhead crane, slinging, and lifting experienceUnderstanding of H&S, COSHH, and environmental proceduresWe are looking for a motivated and adaptable individual who enjoys working within a prototype or advanced engineering environment.
