Here at Teaching Personnel We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a friendly and supportive secondary school in Erdington. This role is perfect for a teacher who can motivate students, foster a love of reading and writing and help them achieve their full potential.
About the Role:
You will be teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that meet the national curriculum. You’ll be guiding students through classic and contemporary texts, honing their analytical skills and preparing them for their GCSE examinations.
Role Responsibilities:
* Delivering high-quality English lessons that inspire and challenge students
* Planning and preparing engaging schemes of work and resources
* Teaching both language and literature to mixed-ability classes
* Assessing, tracking, and reporting on student progress
* Providing constructive feedback and individual support where needed
* Creating an inclusive classroom environment where all learners feel valued and encouraged
* Supporting students with exam preparation and coursework
Role Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 in a UK secondary school
* Strong subject knowledge in English language and literature
* Excellent classroom management and communication skills
* Ability to inspire a passion for English and independent learning
* A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
