Working hours: 35 hours per week including evenings and weekendsInterview Date: To be confirmedLyndon House is a Salvation Army Lifehouse located in Ipswich. The centre provides accommodation and support to individuals experiencing homelessness aged 18 and above. Key Responsibilities:As an Assistant Support Worker, you will be responsible for assisting and delivering a high quality programme of support and meaningful activities. You will need good communication skills and an enthusiasm for working with vulnerable adults who have experienced homelessness.You will work with a team to ensure the smooth running of the centre, supporting clients in their move into independent accommodation, assisting with reception duties, administration, support, activities, and life skills training.The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate: Motivation towards supporting vulnerable clients to achieve focussed and positive life outcomesGood customer service and time management skills with ability to prioritise workloadGood verbal and written communication skillsA positive attitude and motivation towards supporting vulnerable clientsGood team working skillsProficient in a range of IT packages including MicrosoftIn order to complete your application please download and read the job profile and any other attachments.In the job profile you will find the criteria required for the role please make sure that you address this in your supporting statement as this forms the basis of our shortlisting.Appointment subject to satisfactory references, proof of right to work in the UK and a satisfactory Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Barred List Check of the Adult Workforce.For details of how to prove your right to work in the UK please click here and please note that we are unable to offer sponsorship.
