Job Overview

Join a cutting-edge research audio team building the future of AR/VR sound—creating virtual audio that is perceptually indistinguishable from reality and redefining human hearing in challenging environments. You'll run acoustic measurements, process audio data, design and execute perception experiments, and build tools and methods that power large-scale data acquisition in one of the most advanced audio labs in the world (including anechoic chambers and a large configurable acoustic room).

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Develop systems, user interfaces and protocols for acoustic and behavioural data acquisition and processing using Python, MATLAB and MaxMSP.
* Integrate data acquisition and processing algorithms into research platforms in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.
* Perform acoustic data collection with complex capture systems, prototype devices and human subjects in controlled laboratory environments.
* Produce high-quality technical reports documenting methods, results and recommendations.

REQUIREMENTS

* Master's degree in a relevant technical field (or equivalent) with 3+ years' industry experience in audio technology development.
* Proven experience designing and conducting audio/acoustic experiments in controlled lab settings.
* Strong understanding and hands-on experience in acoustics and audio signal processing.
* 3+ years' programming experience in Python, MATLAB or MaxMSP for audio applications.
* Excellent communication and documentation skills.

NICE TO HAVE

* Real-time audio coding in C/C++.
* Knowledge of psychoacoustics, auditory perception, spatial audio, room and/or physical acoustics.
* Experience with PyTorch or other ML frameworks for audio.
* Experience with prototype hardware devices and motion-tracking systems.
* Experience with large-scale automated data collection and analysis.
* Experience designing and setting up acoustic laboratory spaces.
* Demonstrated publications and/or high-quality technical reporting.
