Salford Royal Gastro-Intestinal Physiology Department, based at The Willows Centre for Health in the community, is looking to employ a qualified GI Clinical Physiologist or someone working towards this qualification within the next 6-12 months (salary annex 21 of band 7). The successful candidate will be competent in a range of GI Physiology procedures, including upper and lower GI physiology, and will be expected to fulfill deputy roles and participate in teaching and training.
The position is advertised as a band 7 role. However, applicants who do not currently meet all the skills and competencies for band 7 are encouraged to apply. If successful, they will be appointed under annex 21 rules supported by a development plan for 1 year at 75% of a band 7 salary.
We are a team of 5 core staff, including a Clinical Scientist, Clinical Physiologists, and an admin clerk. We aim to complete our team with an enthusiastic and compassionate qualified individual. Our referrals come from across the North West, from Cumbria and Crewe in the north to other areas in the south. We are part of a North West GI Physiology network and have strong links with the National School of Healthcare Science and Newcastle University, which is part of the Scientist Training Programme.
We are seeking a GI Clinical Physiologist or Scientist to join our busy department. The role involves undertaking oesophageal manometry, 24hr pH/impedance monitoring, and anorectal physiology investigations. The candidate should be capable of analyzing and reporting findings with technical and clinical reports. There is scope to expand knowledge and skills into other investigations and treatments such as biofeedback, HRiM, antroduodenal manometry, capsule enteroscopy, and breath tests. Ideally, the candidate will be an AGIP accredited practitioner and registered with RCCP or HCPC, or within the next 6-12 months.
