The Firm

Our client is a leading international law firm advising major corporates, financial institutions and public sector organisations on complex legal and commercial matters. With a strong UK and global presence, the firm is recognised for its expertise across corporate, finance, real estate and disputes.

The Role

The firm is seeking a Managing Associate (5+ PQE) to join its London team and play a key role in the continued growth of its finance practice, with a strong international and sustainability-focused element.


This is a formative hire, offering the opportunity to work closely with highly regarded partners while helping to build out the practice. The role provides early responsibility, direct client exposure and the chance to establish a strong personal market profile within a growing team.

You will work on a broad range of sophisticated financing transactions, including:


* Drafting and negotiating facility agreements, security documentation and intercreditor arrangements
* Managing conditions precedent processes
* Advising on issues arising during live lending transactions
* Supporting clients on complex and structured funding arrangements


The team advises leading financial institutions, private credit funds and major investors across a range of sectors, offering exposure to high-value and often highly structured deals.


There is a clear growth trajectory for the team, with plans to expand to approximately four partners supported by a strong associate bench (c. 3:1 ratio) over the next five years — presenting significant long-term career opportunities.



Skills & Experience

* 5+ PQE with experience in banking and finance / debt finance transactions
* Excellent technical finance skills, including drafting and negotiating investment-grade LMA documentation (or equivalent)
* Strong familiarity with cross-border leveraged finance, project finance and/or structured holdco finance
* Experience advising on complex structured debt, including super senior, senior, mezzanine and subordinated facilities
* Exposure to non-standard return structures, delayed draw facilities and bespoke financing solutions
* Ideally, experience advising on financings across relevant energy transition asset classes (e.g. renewables, infrastructure, or related sectors)
* Solid training from a leading City or international firm
* Strong technical ability and commercial awareness
