The on-call caregiver should be a seasoned, experienced caregiver for senior citizens. HHA or CNA certification is desired, but a strong work history with elderly clients will also be considered if the applicant is non-certified. The main function of the on-call caregiver is to be available outside of regular hours to the On Call Supervisor for last-minute call outs and urgent client needs. Responsibilities include assisting clients in their homes with daily activities, boosting their spirits, and improving their quality of life through safe home health care services.
The On Call Caregiver:
1. Accepts responsibility for their actions and agrees to be on call during specific hours and days.
2. Will be paid a stipend for being on call, plus hourly wages for hours worked with clients.
3. Will return all calls within 15 minutes during on-call hours and may be called at any time, including midnight, for overnight shifts.
4. Must be able to reach a client within 30 minutes of a call from the supervisor.
5. Accepts all assignments during on-call hours, including some in assisted living and hospice settings.
6. Provides necessary health information, reviews client care plans, and maintains confidentiality.
7. Has reliable transportation and maintains a clean, insured vehicle.
8. Completes documentation accurately and timely, and adheres to PPE and safety protocols.
