Apply Now About the role We have a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Rail team in Exeter or Swindon working on a Civils Reactive Maintenance Contract for the Western Reactive. The role involves working on various frameworks for Network Rail including concrete repairs, drainage works, ground stabilisation, track works and structural changes where you'll deliver complex work that really matters to our business and become involved in some of the biggest infrastructure projects in the industry. The role offers hybrid working and flexible working requests are also available as well as the option to also work part time. What you'll be doing Manage all costs in relation to infrastructure projects with experience of identifying commercial risks and opportunities in respect of their works. Provide support to senior members of team in delivering varied commercial duties including responsibility for procuring and managing supply chain. Optimise commercial performance through diligent cost control and value for money opportunities, whilst achieving the required standards and quality for our customers. Assist with commercial relationships to both internal and external stakeholders. Provide support and adherence for the Gated Business Lifecycle process. Use the company's ERP System and BMS systems. Maintain a Personal Development Plan. Who we're looking for The following qualifications or equivalent are essential: Currently have or working towards a BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience Experience of infrastructure projects with resilience and determination to succeed. The following qualities/experience are desirable: An organised, innovative and creative Quantity Surveyor Previous experience of managing costs and maximising value Previous experience of financial and commercial control within a project Experience of procuring and managing supply chain. Experience of working as part of commercial teams. Membership of or working towards RICS.
