Position purpose
In Drug Product Development (DPD), you will have the ability to impact the lives of patients by working with multi-disciplinary research teams to help in developing novel, efficacious and safe therapeutic molecules. BMS is looking for a Principal Scientist with a desire to contribute in the fast-paced early development matrix environment by applying modeling/simulation, pharmaceutics, DMPK, ADME, chemistry principles and technologies to deliver robust products to patients. As an individual contributor, the successful candidate will be innovative and possess exceptional organizational, communication, & critical thinking skills, and have the ability to thrive in an interdependent and idea-rich environment.
Key responsibilities
* Develop biopharmaceutics strategies to pursue desired therapeutic exposure for active clinical and nonclinical studies.
* Design and develop pharmacokinetic models to identify biopharmaceutics performance attributes that are critical for successful clinical progression
* Develop an integrated biopharmaceutics modeling and simulation package for regulatory interactions and dossier submissions
* Effectively manage development projects with minimal supervision
* Provide independent interactions with multiple functional groups including Discovery, Clinical Pharmacology, Regulatory, and Toxicology
* Work in a collaborative Pharmaceutical Development environment across groups and therapeutic areas
Job Requirements
* A Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacokinetics, or related scientific disciplines with relevant experience.
* A sound understanding of ADME, PK, and PK-PD principles and hands-on modeling experience. (e.g. PBPK, PD, popPK, QSP, etc.)
* Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work and collaborate in a multi-discipline team setting are must to this job function.
* Demonstrated expertise through a record of publications and presentation and familiarity with state-of-the-art academia and industry applied biopharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, and ADME principles.
* Excellence in collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with and influence a broad range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
* Demonstrated passion for fostering innovation and working with an entrepreneurial mindset in a matrix environment.
