We are looking for an experienced Mobile Plumbing Engineer to work with a range of Mitie clients undertaking inspection and repairs across a variety of commercial plumbing and drainage installations, including pipework inspections, adaptations, and repairs.
You should be capable of working to the highest level of service for the client, answering queries, reporting defects, and keeping them informed of site activities during service visits. You will also be required to complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time, keeping logs of inspection reports and remedial work.
You will have knowledge of Health & Safety, Permit to Work procedures, and safe systems of working. Good verbal and written communication skills are essential, and you should be physically capable of performing the duties outlined in the job description.
The ideal candidate would have a background within Maintenance / Facilities Management or similar, with a qualification such as C&G Level 2 / NVQ Level 2 or an equivalent technical diploma.
Main Duties
1. Provide operational support, information, and reports as requested by the Supervisor.
2. Escalate early warnings of defects to the Supervisor.
3. Provide cover for other engineers when required.
4. Undertake routine PPM tasks in accordance with the SFG20 framework.
5. Complete 100% of PPMs monthly.
6. Carry out reactive maintenance in line with contract SLA.
7. Repair leaks, remove blockages to urinals, toilets, foul & rainwater drainage systems, and repair all types of sanitaryware.
8. Repair pipework & valves, undertake small installation works.
9. Undertake repairs to mechanical plant.
10. Perform small electrical repairs such as lamp replacements.
11. Ensure breached reactive works and quoted works are dealt with immediately.
12. Complete Work Record Sheets and certification as necessary.
13. Log all jobs and update status via PDA with supporting comments.
14. Escort duties for subcontractors when required.
15. Issue Permit to Work as needed.
16. Attend site meetings & training sessions.
17. Procure materials and equipment for works.
18. Maintain client premises to the highest standards by proactively addressing repairs.
19. Be available for works outside normal hours with additional remuneration.
20. Participate in a callout rota with additional remuneration.
21. Keep company equipment in excellent condition.
22. Adhere to Mitie's and the client's operational procedures at all times.
23. Maintain regular contact with customers to ensure satisfaction, identify problems early, and support management decisions.
24. Report health & safety risks, targeting at least one hazard report per month.
25. Adapt to new technology to support role and service delivery.
26. Support project teams as required.
27. Assist in the learning and development of new starters/apprentices.
Qualifications and Skills
* Level 2/3 Diploma in Plumbing and Heating.
* Water Hygiene L8 Awareness.
* Recognised trade apprenticeship or training scheme.
* Sound knowledge of building services.
* Ability to undertake various facets of building maintenance.
