Responsibilities including but not limited to:

Take full ownership of Health & Safety compliance across all sites and operations, ensuring all activities meet or exceed current UK legislation and industry best practice.

Develop, implement, and maintain robust risk assessments, COSHH assessments, MSDS/TDS, RAMS, and other critical H&S documentation, ensuring these are reviewed and updated regularly.

Plan and carry out regular audits, inspections and reviews of sites, processes and equipment; ensure any non-conformances, near misses or incidents are thoroughly investigated and lessons learned are communicated and embedded.

Lead and chair Health & Safety Committee meetings, sharing performance trends and driving continuous improvement initiatives in line with the companies growth and strategic goals.

Work closely with site teams to build a visible, positive safety culture, promoting a “don’t walk by” attitude at all levels of the organisation.

Design and deliver effective H&S inductions for new starters, site teams and subcontractors; support ongoing training and toolbox talks to keep Health & Safety front of mind.

Maintain accurate, up-to-date reporting on all Health & Safety data, analysing trends and providing clear recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team to inform decision-making.

Collaborate with operational and IT teams to enhance digital H&S systems — including reporting dashboards, electronic RAMS, audit logs and training records — ensuring they remain fit for purpose as the business scales.

Partner with HR and line managers to integrate H&S messages into wider employee engagement activities, including recognition schemes that reward safe working practices.

Support emergency preparedness by ensuring robust response plans (fire, environmental, severe weather) are in place, tested and clearly communicated to teams.

Act as a trusted advisor and visible leader, setting high standards, supporting colleagues to achieve them, and championing a culture of accountability and care.
