Hyland Support Services are seeking new team members for new homes opening within the Birmingham and Halesowen area. We are searching for support staff who share our values, passion and commitment to the young people we support.

We are a family orientated organisation and we dont have a one size fits all approach. We are seeking new team members who can offer our young people the same approach and who can commit to offering support which is consistent and reliable as well as having a meaningful impact.
Duties
* Provide young people with daily support to empower them to become independent adults and help them to transition into their own homes once they turn 18.
* Have the ability to develop and maintain relationships with young people while maintaining parental boundaries and be part of a support network young people can rely on.
* Safeguard young people and respond appropriately to any safeguarding concerns.
* Work with a range of professionals involved in the support of young people.
* Undertake daily tasks to role model independent living skills to young people including cooking, cleaning and maintaining a home to a high standard.
* Contribute to risk assessments and support plans, involving young people to empower them to direct their own support.
* Follow organisational policies and procedures and contribute to the review and development of them.
* Undertake all relevent training provided.
* Willingness to participate in a range of activities both within the community and in the houses.
Skills
* Experience working with children and young people.
* Experience woking within supported accommodation and understanding of the supported accommodation regulations.
* The ability to communicate with young people and be compassionate and understanding.
* Be creative and resourceful as well as proactive.
* Be able to communicate with the team around you and external professionals.
* Recording and reporting skills
* Flexibility
* Driving licence - not required but is helpful.
* Level 3/4 qualification in working with children and families or in a related subject area.
All training is provided by Hyland Support Services.
