Learning Support Assistant (SEMH)

We are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Reading looking for a dedicated LSA to support pupils across the primary age range who need additional help to thrive both emotionally and academically.

The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant (SEMH) you will:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
Help pupils regulate emotions and develop positive behaviour strategies.
Support learning in the classroom and help pupils stay engaged with lessons.
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff to implement support strategies.
Build positive relationships that help pupils feel safe and supported.
What we're looking for
Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs.
A calm, patient and resilient approach.
Strong relationship-building skills.
A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
Experience in roles such as Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, Behaviour Mentor, Care Worker or Support Worker would also be highly beneficial.
