The Production Engineer - Robotics & Automation will explore / research and implement appropriate automation and robotics solutions into our manufacturing facilities in support of the manufacture of the companies existing and new product range.
The role is one that is expected to develop and will provide an exciting opportunity for personal development and growth within the company. The role will provide a real contribution to the advancement of the use of automation within the business, and will require an individual who is a fast learner with the ability to work independently as well as within a cross-functional team.

Production Engineering Core Tasks:
* Responsible for the engineering review of all customer orders.
* Generating / maintaining accurate BOM and works order information on the company manufacturing system.
* Communicate and support drawing issues / changes with production.
* Administration of controlled builds and maintaining the accuracy of Manufacturing BOM's.
* Through liaison with production personnel, review, control and implement effective and efficient improvements to engineering specifications.
* Responsible for hands-on analysis, problem-solving, and development of all production processes, methods, and engineering specifications.
* Maximise the effectiveness and efficiency of all operations and engineering specifications.
* Development of cellular manufacturing / flow line / single piece flow principles through each of the product / supply areas in line with the Company Standards.
* People / culture development and training in alignment with new methods / practices being introduced. Encourage and facilitate improvements promoted from the employee teams through the use of Total Quality Management techniques;
* Develop and maintain the practices necessary to achieve excellent standards through 5S and Visual Factory.
Automation Specialist Tasks:
* Assist with the specification / set-up and commissioning of new robotic equipment & facilities.
* Responsible for initial program generation and adjustments on existing products.
* The role involves concept design, planning, sourcing and implementation of automation solutions.
* Control and monitor company automated weld integrity.
* Deliver requirements based on control, systems & procedures of all MIG, MAG, GMAW & TIG welding processes and provide technical assistance to all associated departments with welding matters.
* Integration & implementation of new processes, and drive improvement activities on existing processes.
* Provide overall direction & control of all MIG/MAG & TIG welding processes, and associated documentation.
* Development & implementation of internal working standards, documentation & performance reports.
* Assist in the development & integration of automated / robotic welding processes.
* Implement & control a stock management system/routine of welding spares.
* Apply knowledge, understanding & abilities into the training of others.
* Ensure the automated welding facility meets the requirements of OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 standards
* Basic mechanical and electrical repair skills
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Robotics / Engineering or 5 years relevant experience.
* Good understanding of robotic applications.
* Robotic programming and maintenance capability.
* Demonstrated working knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma in the manufacturing field preferable.
* Excellent analytical skills combined with good negotiation and conflict management skills with proficiency in computers would be beneficial.
* Ability to read engineering drawings.

Working Hours & Salary
Basic working hours are 40 per week, 08:00 - 16:30, Monday - Friday.
Salary up to £50,000 per annum depending on experience.
