Our client, a well-respected coeducational secondary school located in Basingstoke, is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Finance Director to join the senior leadership team from September 2025. This is a pivotal role offering the chance to influence long-term financial sustainability and support outstanding outcomes for students.
About the Role:
As Finance Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the school’s financial operations. This includes budget planning and monitoring, financial compliance, reporting to Governors and external bodies, procurement, risk management, and contributing to strategic decision-making. You will lead a small finance team and collaborate closely with the Headteacher, senior leaders, and the governing body to ensure sound financial management.

What They’re Looking For:
* Professional accountancy qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, ACA) or equivalent experience
* Proven experience in financial management, preferably within the education or public sector
* Strategic mindset with excellent analytical, organisational, and interpersonal skills
* Understanding of financial compliance, risk management, and funding in schools
* Ability to work collaboratively with senior leaders and governors
* A strong commitment to safeguarding, equality, and the school’s core values
