Stephenson Halliday, an RSK Group, company is looking for ambitious Consultant/Senior Planner to join the planning team. This role invites applicants in the South-East and London. It is based on a hybrid working model nominally based in our Hemel Hempstead office. The role is offered on a full time, permanent basis.
Stephenson Halliday (part of the RSK Group of companies) are currently supporting a number of high-profile organisations to deliver large-scale projects. We are a well-known and respected consultancy providing planning and landscape services across the UK, particularly in the Energy and Minerals and Waste sectors. Our team members provide services from a network of regional offices to provide advice down to the local level, collaborating with colleagues to function as a single planning team across the UK.
Responsibilities
* Supporting the Lead for major projects in the energy (predominantly renewables) sector and other major planning applications in England, Scotland and Wales.
* Supporting the delivery of feasibility studies, planning applications, environmental reviews, and documentation for colleagues across the Stephenson Halliday business.
* Working closely with clients and environmental stakeholders.
* Providing advice on planning matters.
* Assisting with the production of proposals and tenders, as well as practice promotion.
* Identifying opportunities and delivering multiple benefits.
Person specification
* Degree level qualified in a relevant discipline and, preferably, post graduate qualified in Town Planning or a related subject.
* Full membership of RTPI or RICS (or working towards attaining this).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including a demonstrable ability to work as part of a dynamic team.
* Previous experience of working in a consultancy environment is advantageous.
* An excellent knowledge of the planning process including the current methods, legislation, techniques and guidance which directs the services we provide.
* A good knowledge of managing projects - including a detailed understanding of financial management, program management and quality control.
* Eligible to Drive in the UK.
