Warehouse Operative Temp to Perm
Role Summary
The Warehouse Operative is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient handling of all rental equipment including lighting, rigging, and related assets. The role ensures strict adherence to inventory controls, high service standards, and supports Equipment Technicians with preparation and quality checks.
Please note this role is a Temp to Perm role, annul salary is £25.400
Key Responsibilities
Operational Duties
Safely and efficiently move goods throughout the warehouse and operational areas.
Load and unload vehicles in line with company procedures and risk assessments.
Accurately scan, record, and track rental assets using RTPro via computers and hand scanners.
Identify and correctly count non‑coded items, entering accurate data into the system.
Prioritise sub‑hire equipment, apply tags where required, and place items in designated locations.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times.
Inspect all returned equipment, reporting any damage or missing items immediately.
Use PPE and manual handling equipment correctly and ensure it is maintained appropriately.
Route equipment to the correct dispatch bay at the correct time as instructed by the Equipment Coordinator or Operational Manager.
Report any stock anomalies or inaccuracies to the Department Supervisor or Equipment Manager without delay.
Work collaboratively with Supervisors, Equipment Managers, inventory teams, and wider operational staff to meet business needs.
Asset Management & Quality Control
Handle all equipment safely and efficiently at all times.
Ensure equipment preparation, handling, and testing follow company procedures and applicable regulations.
Conduct all QC checks and scanning processes accurately and consistently.
Escalate any concerns relating to inventory accuracy or asset control immediately.
Consistently aim to deliver the highest standards of equipment quality and service reliability.
Health & Safety
Demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining a safety‑first culture.
Follow all health & safety policies, including manual handling and use of mechanical handling equipment.
Keep all pedestrian pathways and evacuation routes clear at all times.
Ensure no equipment or handling tools create hazards within the warehouse or outdoor areas.
Report any safety concerns through the appropriate channels promptly.
Essential Skills & Attributes
Strong drive to maintain high standards of accuracy, quality, and service.
IT literate with the ability to learn in‑house asset management systems (e.g., RTPro).
Positive attitude with the ability to perform effectively in a high‑demand environment.
Clear and confident communication skills.
Adaptable, willing to learn, and proactive in supporting wider operational needs.
Flexible to work overtime and occasional weekends when required by the business.
